Modern Tudor

Stanford, CA

Originally constructed in 1927, this 8,000 square foot Tudor home with a Revival aesthetic was given a second life by reconstructing the interior layout to meet the family’s needs, while still acknowledging the historic significance. By incorporating a hand-carved limestone mantel in the living room and checkerboard laid marble tile from France in the foyer, the home’s interior has a seamless sense of tradition. The kitchen, dining area and family room were originally enclosed, but extending them into one open space allows for natural light to flow through the home.
